Hello!
My name is Virginia and I am a Nicaraguan-American illustrator based in the DMV area. After many years of lifelong sketchbook-keeping, with the encouragement of my friends, I started sharing my work online in 2015 as Amiga Hormiga. Slowly but surely, I began to take on freelance work with clients such as Capital One, TEDxRVA and Marriott International hotel as a live-doodler for conferences, workshops and private events.
I started Amiga Hormiga Studio in order to expand my line of products to include reproductions of my original illustrations into bilingual greeting cards, stickers and gifts.

Through it all, I am still largely inspired by what I see, eat and think about. Most of my big ideas start either as a scribble in my illustrated journal or from the notes app of my phone. I draw to remember the thrills and comforts of my daily life, and I hope it inspires you to relish your own.
